The traditional view of a Britain made of working, middle and upper class people is no longer accurate
The Great British Class Survey comprising 161,000 people, charts a new way of thinking about class and social capital. The new system has seven groupings and blurs the already problematic British class boundaries.

The research was undertaken by BBC LabUK and professors Fiona Devine (The University of Manchester) and Mike Savage (London School of Economics) and has been published in April 2013 edition of the journal Sociology.
